Small Wisdom From The Bathroom Doors

My house is my
Prison
My mind is my
Cell- Anonymous

As I find these sayings upon the bathroom doors, I am often struck with the hopelessness in the words. I wonder who the person is who could ever write such words and feel sorry for them. This message shows the importance of being there for other people, so that they do not have to keep their feelings welled up inside of them.

A Dream Within A Dream

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow--
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?- Edgar Allan Poe

Quote of the Day- June 23, 2011

"If you have ever seen a dragon in a pinch, you will realize that this was only poetical exaggeration applied to any hobbit, even to Old Took's great-granduncle Bullroarer, who was so huge (for a hobbit) that he could ride a horse. He charged the ranks of the goblins of Mount Gram in the Battle of the Green Fields, and knocked their king Golfibul's head clean off with a wooden club. It sailed a hundred yards through the air and went down a rabbit-hole, and in this way the battle was won and the game of Golf was invented at the same moment."

Graceling

Katsa has been able to kill a man with her bare hands since she was eight—she’s a Graceling, one of the rare people in her land born with an extreme skill. As niece of the king, she should be able to live a life of privilege, but Graced as she is with killing, she is forced to work as the king’s thug.

When she first meets Prince Po, Graced with combat skills, Katsa has no hint of how her life is about to change. She never expects to become Po’s friend. She never expects to learn a new truth about her own Grace—or about a terrible secret that lies hidden far away . . . a secret that could destroy all seven kingdoms with words alone.

My Review

Graceling is an exciting book. Katsa has long been feared because it is believed that she has the Grace to kill. A Grace is a extreme skill, such as mindreading or cooking. Those who have a grace have two different eye colors. Throughout the book, Katsa and Po are trying to figure out what her Grace truly is, while also trying to save the Princess from the influence of her wicked Graced father. Katsa is a hard heroin, who has been under the power of her uncle as a tool since she was eight. Po, she finds, is the only person who is her match in fighting. Or is he? The true nature of a Grace can sometimes be hidden, for those they are given to can be used as tools for power. The concept of words being used as a weapon was a great plot point, which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, as much as I liked Graceling, it is also an example of why I don't read many Young Adult books. Romance is given to the reader, but without heed to marriage.

Hobbit Movie News: New Actors Cast

Luke Evans
…a last major part that Peter Jackson hadn’t cast in a production that’s underway in New Zealand. Bard the Grim is a skilled archer, and the heir of King Girion of Dale. The king was killed by the talking dragon Smaug. The character plays a greater role in the second film, and is somewhat reminiscent of the action-hero exploits of Viggo Mortensen’s Aragorn, I’m told.
Evangeline Lilly

According to Peter Jackson- Evangeline Lilly will be playing a new character—the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means ‘daughter of Mirkwood’ and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing! (No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas.) What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life.
I’m also highly excited that Barry Humphries will be portraying the Goblin King, in much the way Andy Serkis created Gollum. Barry is perhaps best known for his business and social connections as the long-time manager of Dame Edna Everage. He has also been an ardent supporter of the rather misunderstood and unfairly maligned Australian politician, Sir Les Patterson. However, in his spare time, Barry is also a fine actor, and we’re looking forward to seeing him invest the Goblin King with the delicate sensitivity and emotional depth this character deserves.
Evangeline and Barry, along with Welsh actor Luke Evans as Bard and Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug, just about rounds out the major casting. I cannot wait to get stuck into these new scenes!
Benedict Cumberbatch

He’ll portray Smaug via motion capture. He is already on the picture, providing the voice of the character Necromancer. This comes as Cumberbatch is getting buzz for his supporting performances in the Steven Spielberg-directed War Horse. And Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, in which he stars opposite Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy and Colin Firth.

I’m Happy You’re My Dad

I feel safe when you are with me;
You show me fun things to do;
You make my life much better;
The best father I know is you.
I’m happy you’re my Dad
And so I want to say
I love you, Dad, and wish you
A Happy Father’s Day!

Quote of the Day- April 17, 2011

The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.  ~St. Augustine

The World truly is a book. What we perceive is not always the truth and the way we view others is often wrong. Our existence is a story. However, our story is intertwined with the stories of others. What makes a happy ending? To me it is when one good person spreads light and hope into the lives of the stories that he or she shares. To do that, one must seek to understand the stories of others and then make the choice to pursue a way to help them in their time of need.

"Hope" Is A Thing With Feathers

"Hope" is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I've heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.-Emily Dickinson

A Sailing Ship

A small ship is sailing.
Sailing in a disturbed ocean.
Its journey looks very hard.
I am the captain of that ship.

I am very young captain.
Had not seen such journey.
A journey through rough tides.
And my ship is not too strong.

Luckily my crew is with me.
They stood by my side.
It’s a mix of old and young.
And our voyage is uphill.

We are going against wind.
This can crush our ship.
Nothing is going right.
But we are doing our best.

We lost our way.
Our anchors are gone.
Tides pushed us into twister.
Still we are with our ship.

The anchors are gone.
Our way is lost.
Ocean is against us.
But we are together.

Until we are united.
Until we are side by side.
Until we are a team.
We will see through this time.

We will sail this ocean.
We will into pleasant sea.
With a smiling crew.
And with a strong ship- Kranthi Pothineni

Dream Deferred

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode? – Langston Hughes

Action has meaning only in relationship and without understanding relationship, action on any level will only breed conflict. The understanding of relationship is infinitely more important than the search for any plan of action.
- Jiddu Krishnamurti
In all relationships, one must sometimes bow to the other person's reason. Leaders often come to odds with those who often contain the souls of leaders. However, a relationship has two sides to it. It contains two sides and not just one.

Tres Arboles

Tres árbo1es caidos
quedaron en la orilla del sendero.
El lenador los o1vidó, y conversan,
apretados de amor, como tres ciegos.
El sol de ocaso pone
Su sangre viva en los hendidos lenos
¡Y se llevan los vientos la fragancia
de su costado abierto!
Uno, torcido, tiende
Su brazo immenso y de follaje trémulo
Lacia otro, y sus heridas
Como dos ojos son, llenos de reugo.
El lenador los o1vidó. La noche
vendrá. Estaré con ellos.
Recibiré en mi corazón sus mansas
Resinas. Me serán como de fuego.
Y mudos y cenidos
Nos halle el dia en un montón de duelo.

Three trees, struck down, were left by the edge of the road.
The woodsman forgot them, so, they spoke,

clutching one and other out of love, like three blind men

The dying sun spills its fiery blood

on the wounded logs,

While the fragrance of their open sides

is lifted away by the winds!

One, twisted, extends its mightly arm

with trembling leaves toward another,

and its wounds beg like

two pleading eyes.

They woodsman forgot them. Night is coming.

I will be one with them. Their mild resins

will flow into my heart. To me they’ll burn like fire.

And—day will find us, silent and clinging

together, in a heap of sorrow. -Gabriela Mistral

The Fantasy Told

Here we are chapter one, tis a tale for old and young,
A group of people there be, at some rundown tavern by the sea.
A chilly cold breeze runs trough the air but for the locals they do not but care, for their town is troubled by more than the odd hostile bear.
They are in need a force is at work something so terrible that millions now hide within the nearby church!
What is this force you may ask? Tis you the reader, you own the mask.
The mask of death they know it all too well, for every line you read down another man/woman or child may fell.
The town bell rings and our group looks around, be it fame, fortune or honer that rings from the sound, they will march from their tables and out trough the door, their quest it seems had begun but you the reader no more,
for soon these fighters, thieves, and mages, will join with the priests and holy crusaders. they will battle... every page, every line, every word for if they rest they know they may run out of time...
Screams and shouts, blood and gore! ! !
*CRASH! ! * Oh enough already its only a poem belted your mother as she burst trough the door...
Interrupted you see your poem has become fun,- Anthony Levitt
