Elizabeth Banks confirms her role as Effie Trinket in "The Hunger Games"

Yesterday we told you Elizabeth Banks and John C. Reilly were all set to play Effie and Haymitch respectively in The Hunger Games despite an official announcement. Now, the former has sent out a tweet that confirms her involvement.

She wrote: “Yes! And I can now confirm I’m EFFIE TRINKET in @TheHungerGames. So excited!”

Earlier in the day, Banks tweeted:
Guess who said this: “I’m smiling at you even though you’re aggravating me.”
The quote is from the first book in The Hunger Games series and is said by Effie.

In other news:

Casting announcements have been appearing left and right for next year’s ‘The Hunger Games’. The latest announcement concerns a person very close to the characters Katniss and Prim.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Paula Malcomson will play Katniss and Prim’s mother.
It was recently revealed that Katniss will be played by Jennifer Lawrence and and Prim will be played by Willow Shields.

John C. Reilly was also rumored to play the role of Hamich, but he has back out of involvement with the Hunger Games movie for now.
