It Started With A Laughing Girl

My sister came home from school today and told our family a story. There was once a teacher who worked at school in New Jersey teaching 8th Grade English. There was one particular student named Emily who never stopped laughing. The girl who sat next to her was named Brittney and she talked continuously, so he thought that she was making Emily giggle at everything he did. He moved a very quiet girl named Brianna to Brittney's spot. By the next day Brianna was talking. The teacher brought the girl out into the hallway.
"You're not supposed to talk to her," he said.
Brianna responded by saying that he had put her by her best friend. And did he really  expect them to sit there like perfect little angels? The English Teacher moved Brianna away from Emily. In her place, he put an Emo-boy. As most Emo- kids go, he dressed all in black. He also didn't like to eat very much. Once the English Teacher asked him if he wanted some Ice- cream. The boy responded, " No, I don't want to because once you go and scoop the ice cream into your bowl, then you have to go back to your desk. By the time you get back to your desk it's already melted from the outside like and it looks horrible just like this world that we're living in."
A few day the Emo- boy was wearing a bright blue shirt and no black at all.
The teacher took him out into the hallway, "You're not supposed to be cured. No offense, but you're supposed to keep Emily from laughing."
The boy responded like those before him that he had put him by his best friend. And did he really  expect them to sit there like perfect little angels?
The teacher didn't know what to do. The next day was the day when the teachers entered the grades and all of the teachers were stressed. There was a box of chocolate bars in the main office and all of the teachers were putting money in the box and then taking out a chocolate bar. The English Teacher went down to the main office and tried to put a dollar in, but it wouldn't fit. So he took off the top and then put a dollar in. Suddenly, on the bottom of the top he saw a note. It told where the proceeds were going to. It was going to a third grader in that school who had cancer. That third grader had the same last name as Emily. He realized why Emily had been laughing all this time. She had decided to laugh instead of cry. When the report cards came out, he had a meeting with Emily's mother and talked to her about Emily's grades. Afterwords, he pushed everything aside and said, " I want to tell you something. Your daughter is very courageous."
"No," the mother said to him, " She's just good at hiding things.

The English Teacher was inspired and decided to write a book based off of the story of this girl. So who is this author. His name is Jordan Sonnenblick and he wrote the book "Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie. I haven't read it yet, but when I do I'll post a full review.
