I'm sure most of us want to be better people. I think that where we fall short is when we only tell ourselves who we want to be and fail to make ourselves into that person. Morals are hammered into our heads and we know them to be right, but we the situation presented to us and turn in to our advantage. Immorality is when you go against societies ideals and fail to meet the consequences. Morality, while is may go against societies ideals, creates a person who will meet the consequences of their actions whether they are right or wrong. Therefore, it is impossible to simply become a better person without trying. "You must hammer and forge yourself" a character who does what is good and right.
